The Media Research Center is currently seeking applicants for several fundraiser positions. Openings exist for both experienced and entry level fundraisers.
Direct Mail Program
Manager
Reports to Executive Director
Mission: The mission of the Media Research
Center (MRC) is to expose, document, and
neutralize liberal media bias thereby creating a
media culture where truth and liberty flourish
in America.
Position Overview:
The Direct Mail Program Manager will be
responsible for managing, facilitating and
monitoring the MRC Direct Mail Program in
conjunction with the Executive Director and each
of the MRC’s Direct Mail vendors as well as the
oversight of the caging and fulfillment
operations, and management of the MRC’s
integrated database.
Major Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain the annual
direct mail program calendar and income
projections working closely with all vendors
involved with the program.

Manage and maintain the
integrated database; monitoring and tracking the
performance measurement of the database.

Develop and monitor the direct
mail portfolio analysis to evaluate performance
to established goals and projections for the
total file.

Monitor and analyze total
donor/customer relationships across all
products.

Monitor and manage donor/customer
service through caging and fulfillment vendor(s).

Administer and monitor direct
mail TKY program to meet established standards.
-
Administer and monitor new donor
Welcome Program and all of its components to
maximize new donor retention.

Work closely with direct mail
vendors to facilitate list management, list
exchanges, and merge/purge for all direct mail
appeals.

Work closely with Marketing to
manage, upload and analyze data file overlays
from market research.

Work closely with the President
and direct mail vendors to effectively manage
MRC messages through all programs and coordinate
the ebb and flow of direct mail copy for
approval.

Maintain a complete file of all
direct mail appeals and monthly reports for
audit and program records.

Coordinate the generation of all
reports and analysis needed to effectively
evaluate program(s) on a monthly and as needed
basis.
Qualifications: A
qualified candidate must be well versed in
direct mail, databases and customer service with
3-5 years experience in direct mail. The
individual must possess a complete understanding
of data base systems as well as customer service
in direct marketing programs. Direct mail copy
editing is helpful but not necessary.

Major Gift Fundraiser
The MRC is currently in the final planning stages for a major Capital Campaign and has openings for experienced major gift fundraisers. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of fundraising experience with not-for-profit organizations or with political campaigns. Equivalent professional sales experience in other industries will be considered. One on one personal solicitation experience with individuals, foundations or corporations is mandatory. This is not an event planning position.
Professional presentation and the ability to effectively communicate both in person and writing are required. Candidates must be well versed in conservative issues and current political events as well as with the media.

Internships
Interns work closely with MRC analysts to monitor news programs for liberal media bias. They input details into the News Tracking System and also review assigned print publications. The interns participate in the News Division’s weekly meetings and discuss current news and trends being documented. Aspiring journalists learn basic hands-on news reporting skills, with heavy emphasis on balance. Working at CNS
enables interns to get "real world" experience in the high-speed atmosphere of a newsroom. Interns for CNS
