NBC-4’s PRO-ABORTION PROBLEM

BARBARA HARRISON’S EMCEEING OF PLANNED PARENTHOOD EVENT TARS NEWS ORGANIZATION WITH STAIN OF BIAS

Would NBC-4 Let One Of Its Anchors Emcee A Pro-Life Event?

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Media Research Center President Brent Bozell today condemned WRC-TV (NBC Channel 4 in Washington, D.C.) for allowing anchor Barbara Harrison to emcee a pro-abortion event last Friday, October 26th. Harrison emceed the Planned Parenthood Awards dinner in Washington; Planned Parenthood is an adamantly pro-abortion organization.

“Journalists are supposed to be above reproach when it comes to sensitive and controversial issues they themselves cover. Barbara Harrison has lost all credibility in covering this issue, and both NBC-4’s credibility and judgment have been called into question as well,” Bozell said.

Bozell noted that by allowing Harrison to emcee such an ideological event, NBC-4 just insulted a huge portion of its viewing audience.

“Channel 4 now has a pro-abortion problem. Most of the people in its viewing audience have a deeply held position on the issue, one side or the other, and the station owes it to its viewers to re-establish its credibility. If Channel 4 cannot maintain credibility on this issue, how can viewers trust it to cover any issue?” Bozell said.
