MRC’s Best Notable Quotables of 2001 to be Unveiled
Tuesday, December 18

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Media Research Center will unveil its Best Notable Quotables of 2001, the Annual Awards for the Year’s Worst Reporting on Tuesday December 18. As is the case every year some new award categories have been added. The winners will be selected by over 40 judges including editorial writers, editorial cartoonists, radio talk show hosts, syndicated columnists, and journalism professors. The categories this year are:

Swiss Press Corps Award (for remaining neutral in war coverage)
Department of Injustice Award (for denigrating John Ashcroft)
Blame America First Award
Glimpses of Patriotism Award
Carve Clinton Into Mount Rushmore Award
Selected Not Elected Award (for claiming Bush is an illegitimate President)
Poisoning The Planet Award (for portraying Bush as an Earth destroyer)
Picking The Lockbox Award (for denouncing Bush’s tax cut)
Euro-Envy Award (for advocating more government spending)
Damn Those Conservatives Award
Media Hero Award
Good Morning Morons Award
Pushing Bush To The Left Award
Politics Of Meaninglessness Award (for silliest analysis)
Nobody Here But Us Apolitical Observers Award (for denying liberal bias)
