MRC’s BOZELL: PENTAGON SHOULD REMOVE CNN
REPORTERS FROM MILITARY EMBEDDING PROGRAM

CNN’s Promotion of Terrorist Sniper Propaganda Must Be Condemned and Stopped

Alexandria, VA–Media Research Center President Brent Bozell announced today his support for the request by Representative Duncan Hunter and several other congressmen, in their letter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, to remove CNN from the military embedding program for reporters – a step prompted by CNN’s decision to acquire and broadcast a propaganda video of terrorist snipers stalking and killing U.S. soldiers in Iraq.

“CNN’s broadcast of a terrorist propaganda video, which is nothing more than a terrorist snuff film, is deplorable and revolting,” said MRC President Brent Bozell. “American soldiers are fighting and dying in Iraq to help win the war against terrorism and CNN reporters, who are embedded and protected by U.S. soldiers, are turning around and cutting deals with terrorists and then broadcasting the terrorists’ propaganda.

“Congressman Hunter is correct: Does CNN want America to win this war? CNN can’t pretend it’s somehow neutral in the war on terror and then demand that U.S. soldiers protect it from terrorists.

“Secretary Rumsfeld should remove CNN from the embedding program unless or until the cable station can demonstrate that it is not a conveyor belt for terrorist propaganda.”
